Letting Attractions Know About Your Special Needs

We understand that receiving help when traveling with special needs can be difficult. To help make travel smoother, KaliKosmos Travel recommends starting the travel experience prepared.

When flights are part of the reservation, utilizing the TSA Cares program can help make the security screening process less stressful. It’s also good to carry a “TSA Individuals with Disabilities and Medical Conditions” identification card which can non-verbally alert the TSA officer to the special needs a traveler may have. Please keep in mind that with both programs screening will still be required.

Registering for the IBCCES Accessibility Card allows travelers to communicate specific needs to attractions they’d like to visit. The Accessibility Card is most useful when paired with an IBCCES Certified Autism Center, and Advanced Certified Autism Center, or an Autism Certified City.
